Before

All good makeovers need a before, and this is no exception.

Our first project we are tackling is the biggest room in the house, our lovely kitchen. Here are some of the befores:

Although its a great big space, the dark cabinets and doors chop up the room and make it feel smaller than it is. Also, though its hard to see in the pictures, the three sets of cabinets (around the sink/stove, in the island, and behind the table) are all just a little different, making everything look just a little cobbled together. Once the pots and pans came down, we realized that the scary meat hooks they were hanging on had to go.


So the current plan is the following: Paint everything!

Seriously though, all the cabinets are getting a new coat of paint, as is the trim and the windows. The walls are going a deeper shade of golden yellow, the trim is going white, and the cabinets will be a warm grey ( more pictures to come). We're even going to try to paint the tile backsplash (more on that later too)
